afl 2012 @ bgc turf

congrats to the gtu ram b team for winning third place (division b).

this tournament brought about many new experience to me considering i've been playing football since grade school.

1) it was my first time to play keeper in an official tournament.
- my right shoe just gave up on me. with only some scotch tape holding the soles, we didn't have a choice but for me to play keeper. note to self... always bring extra an extra pair if possible during tournaments. you never know when they will fail you. lol.

2) it was my first time to save a penalty shot.
- i guess it was my lucky day. maybe i do have a future in playing keeper. haha. kidding.

3) my first penalty kick and penalty goal
- good thing i was able to borrow my friend's shoes. i decided to borrow only the right since the fit was terrible. I'm size 7.5 and i think he's a six. with this workaround, i got to play upfront for the battle for third. in the dying minutes of the game, i was fouled in the penalty box by a defender twice my size while going for a header. for some reason, i survived and scored the penalty easily. maybe the shoe has some mystical powers. thanks ryan!
