book 7: fade

the only reason that i bought this book was becoz of the 70% discount. i never even heard of the author. fade (by robert cormier) was a bargain. and i'm a sucker for good deals. this is why my room is cluttered with stuff that i never get to use. i got them coz they were cheap and thought that they might come in handy someday. you can say that my room is literally a junk-yard. anyway, lets get back to the book. it's almost 2am and i need to get some sleep. since i got the book for less than a hundred bucks, i expected it to suck big time. i'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. suprisingly, i was wrong. fade turned out to be one of the most enjoyable novels i've read in recent years. it's hard not to like this book. it tackles complex themes like turmoil of adolescence. the responsibility that comes with power, and conquering personal demons with narrative ease. it's bleak, dark, and disturbing yet it's very easy to digest. fade can certainly be a good material for a high school book report. and i say this without sarcasm. it's a book for young adults that everyone will enjoy.

look up for robert cormier in the web. i might start reading his other works. interesting enough.
